This is one of my favorites that I’ve written, it plays on power, submission, sexuality, love, and loss. I have no personal backstory with this one, this was a fantasy I had while listening to music. I was the fox in this scenario, being overpowered, cared for tenderly, ravaged, loved, and set free. I think I am always looking for these things in the world: someone strong enough and worthy to overpower me, tenderness, passion, love, and freedom.
Fleeting Fox
clouded night, yet magic lives
arch of fire
a doorway gives
blindfold the fox and drag her in
fur and satin
meet again
heart alike,
of moss and bone
press upon
the weakest bone
at last, arise
let go the heat
do not turn back
it is to be
